The Université d'Ottawa / University of Ottawa (uOttawa) is, according to the university, the largest English-French bilingual university in the world. It is located in the heart of Ottawa, Canada's capital, has been operating since 1848 and has about 50,000 students. It is a member of the U15 group of Canadian research universities and states that it is among the top five in Canada for research intensity. It also has a campus in Kanata North, next to the country's largest technology park.

Programmes are taught in English and French: bachelor's degrees and certificates, dual fast-track degrees, and graduate studies from microprogrammes and graduate diplomas to master's degrees and PhDs. Professional programmes include civil law, common law, teacher education, medicine and pharmacy (PharmD). Most students take part in experiential learning.

International applicants apply through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) and receive support from an international recruitment team with partners around the world. Students who need to improve their English can be admitted with language conditions or through the English Intensive Program. Residence places are available on campus.
