The University of Bristol is a university in the city of Bristol, England. According to the university, it was the first higher education institution in the UK to admit men and women on an equal basis. It states that it is ranked 8th in the UK and 57th in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2027, and that it was among the top five UK universities for research quality in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF), as rated by Times Higher Education. The university has also introduced a Mumbai Enterprise Campus.
Bristol offers undergraduate courses and postgraduate programmes, as well as short courses for members of the public. Its students can spend a year, a semester or a summer abroad to study, work or volunteer, and mature students aged 21 and over are welcome on undergraduate degrees.
The International Office supports international students from application to arrival ([email protected]), and information on tuition fees, fee status and scholarships is published on the university website. The university has its own student accommodation with several room types and locations, and provides information on renting in the private sector. Prospective students can attend an undergraduate open day, the next one on 31 October 2026, or take a virtual tour of the campus.
