The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) is a research-intensive university in northern British Columbia, Canada. Its largest campus is in Prince George, with regional campuses in Fort St. John (Peace River-Liard), Terrace and Prince Rupert (Northwest) and Quesnel (South-Central). The university describes itself as "Canada's Green University", and 14% of its students self-identify as Indigenous.
UNBC has more than 3,000 undergraduate students and offers 71 bachelor's degrees, 24 of them with an honours option, as well as graduate degrees, diplomas and certificates. Programmes are organised in five faculties and a Division of Medical Sciences:

UNBC International supports international students with study permits, health insurance, housing and academic and career advice, and runs a Global Buddy Program and an English Conversation Program. On-campus housing in Prince George is home to more than 500 students, and the university awards $3.7 million in scholarships and bursaries each year.

Admission
- Apply online through EducationPlannerBC and send outstanding documents to [email protected]
- Admitted students accept their place with a non-refundable admission deposit (refundable only if the study permit is refused)
- After the deposit, UNBC sends the Letter of Acceptance and, if applicable, the Provincial Attestation Letter for the study permit application
- Intakes in Fall (September) and Winter (January)
- Study permit holders must take at least 9 credit hours (3 courses) per semester
Scholarships and financial aid
UNBC gives $3.7 million in scholarships, bursaries and awards each year. International students can apply for Early Entrance Awards and other scholarships listed on the university's awards and financial aid pages.
Housing
The Neyoh and Keyoh residences at the Prince George campus house more than 500 students in furnished apartment-style units, less than five minutes' walk from the centre of campus. Residents must be at least 17, and undergraduates with fewer than 60 UNBC credits must take a meal plan. UNBC International also provides an off-campus housing guide.
