Language school in Mainz, Germany
Verbum Novum is a German language school in Mainz, the head office of an organiser of language stays that also has schools in Munich, Berlin, Bremen and Nuremberg. The Mainz school teaches only German as a foreign language, to adults aged 18 and over, and is an official telc examination centre and telc C1 Hochschule Competence Center. It is at Bahnhofstraße 13, close to Mainz main station.
- Intensive German, 20 lessons per week, levels A1 to C2
- Intensive German plus conversation, 25 lessons per week
- Evening course, 4 lessons per week
- Individual lessons, including business German, and online lessons
- Preparation for telc exams, the DSH and the Studienkolleg entrance test
- Medical German for doctors
Courses usually start on Mondays and run Monday to Friday from 9 a.m.; new students take a placement test on the first day. The school also offers university placement assistance for students who want to study in Germany. Students can book a course with or without accommodation: host families (no board, breakfast or half board), student apartments with a kitchenette, or a hotel. An airport transfer from Frankfurt can be booked.

- Medical German and preparation for the language exam for doctors
One lesson lasts 45 minutes.
Housing
Courses can be booked with or without accommodation. In Mainz the options are:
- Host family in the city or its surroundings, with a private room and no board, breakfast or half board
- Standard student apartment with kitchenette and en-suite shower/WC, about 12 minutes by bus from the school
- Hotel room with en-suite bathroom
Double rooms are for two students travelling together. Arrival is on Sunday and departure on Saturday.
