Bachelor of Science Degree in Telematics Engineering:  Course Description
The Bachelor of Science Degree in Telematics Engineering is an undergraduate-level program that typically spans four years in duration for full-time students.  Students enrolled in this program will be provided with a strong background in telecommunications and computer science, ultimately preparing them to design, implement and operate communications networks—including access point, transport, local area, sensors and wireless networks.  They will also be exposed to and gain expertise in the various associated telecommunication services and applications, including telephony, Internet, email, file sharing, online games and e-commerce, along with their appropriate security and quality-control mechanisms.  Graduates of the program will be able to apply these cross-cutting skills to the management of telematics projects in the communications, audiovisual, recreational, cultural, healthcare, public tourism, and the industrial and home automation sectors.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Telematics Engineering:  Coursework and Eligibility Requirements
Like all undergraduate programs, the Bachelor of Science Degree program in Telematics Engineering includes both core and elective coursework in addition to the general education requirements of the college or university.  These general education requirements generally include courses in mathematics, natural and physical science, English composition, languages, communication and speech, and social and behavioral sciences.  Core and elective coursework in the program may include classes such as:

The final semester of the program is generally reserved for the completion of a Bachelor’s thesis or a capstone research project.
To qualify for admission into the Bachelor of Science Degree program in Telematics Engineering students must possess at least a high school diploma or its equivalent and be able to demonstrate strong academic ability and aptitude in fields such as science, mathematics and technology.  Some institutions may also require students to take and pass an entrance examination prior to being considered for admission into the program.
