University of Pécs

The University of Pécs (Pécsi Tudományegyetem, PTE or UP) is a university in Pécs, Hungary, in the Transdanubian region, with roots dating back to 1367. It operates as a public benefit organisation, run by the Universitas Quinqueecclesiensis Foundation. The university states that it has 25,000 students, including more than 5,700 international students from over 146 countries, and 2,400 lecturers and researchers. Besides Pécs, it has a faculty in Szekszárd and runs programmes in Kaposvár, Szombathely and Zalaegerszeg and abroad.

Its ten faculties offer more than 300 programmes following the Bologna system: bachelor's degrees (BA, BSc), master's degrees (MA, MSc) and doctoral training (PhD, DLA) in 21 doctoral schools. More than 100 full programmes are taught in English and other foreign languages.

The UP Clinical Centre takes part in the practical training of medical and health students together with the Medical School and the Faculty of Health Sciences.
