Allan Hancock College is a public community college in northern Santa Barbara County, California. About 10,000 credit students enroll each semester; the main campus is a 105-acre site in Santa Maria, with a second location, the Lompoc Valley Center (the Santa Ynez Valley Center is closed until further notice). More than 98 percent of students come from the local area.

Students who want a bachelor's degree can start it at Hancock and transfer with help from the University Transfer Center. Through 2+2 partnerships, Hancock teaches the first two years towards an associate degree and Cal Poly faculty teach the upper-division courses on the Santa Maria campus: a BA in Sociology and, from fall 2026, a BS in Business Administration. A BSN pathway in nursing with CSU Channel Islands is offered largely online. The college also runs an intercollegiate athletics program that includes football, basketball, soccer, baseball and volleyball.

Fees
From fall 2026, students who are not California residents, including international students, pay non-resident tuition of US$397 per unit plus the state enrollment fee of US$46 per unit (California residents pay only the US$46 per unit). International students are not eligible for the non-resident payment plan. A health services fee of US$28 is charged in the fall and spring semesters. The college notes that fees may increase each year.
