Barrie School

Barrie School is a tuition-charging school with a 45-acre campus that teaches children from infancy (3 months) to Grade 12. It is organised in three divisions:

• Lower School, from 3 months
• Middle School (Grades 6 to 8)
• Upper School (Grades 9 to 12)

The school's approach is based on active learning, which it describes as the common ground between Montessori education and project-based learning, with an emphasis on hands-on, experiential learning.

Barrie is accepting applications for the 2026-27 school year. Families can attend an admission open house for infants through Grade 12 on 17 October 2026 or join fall group tours for the Lower School and for the Middle and Upper School. The school admits students regardless of race, religion, gender, national origin or disability, but may decline applicants based on past academic achievement or current testing results. Information on tuition, fees and financial aid is available from the school, and the admission office can be contacted by email or by phone on 301-576-2800.
