Camosun College

Camosun College is a post-secondary college in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The British Columbia government authorised it in October 1970 as Juan de Fuca College; in January 1971 it adopted the name Camosun, a Lekwungen name meaning "where different waters meet and are transformed", and it opened on 16 September 1971 with 980 students. Today its Lansdowne and Interurban campuses and five community partner learning sites offer over 160 academic and applied programmes to 20,000 students a year, according to the college.
Programmes range from certificates and diplomas to post-degree diplomas and bachelor's degrees. Students can also start a degree through university transfer courses whose credits transfer to the University of Victoria or other Canadian institutions. Other options include:
- Trades programmes
- Professional studies and industry training
- International student programmes
- Dual credit programmes for high school students
Each programme sets its own admission requirements, and some also ask for life or work experience or supporting materials. The college does not have on-campus residences, so most students rent apartments, suites or shared houses; a first student housing project on the Lansdowne campus has received provincial funding approval.

Admission
Each programme has its own admission requirements, listed on the programme page, and applicants must submit proof that they meet or exceed them. Subject requirements can generally be met with a high school course or with a Camosun alternative or assessment. Some programmes also require life or work experience or supporting materials. International students have separate admission requirements.
Fees
Student fees for the 2026-27 academic year, as listed by the college:
- Application fee: $49, due with the application
- Registration deposit: $175
- Student society fees and levies: $56.38 per month
- Student services fee: $12.88 per month
- Student benefits plan (health and dental): $318 per year, opt-out available
Tuition varies by programme and course; international students have a separate tuition schedule.
Housing
Camosun College does not currently offer on-campus residences or dormitories. Most students live in rented apartments, condos, basement suites or shared houses, and the college's housing resources page gives guidance on renting in Victoria and on tenants' rights and responsibilities in British Columbia. The college has received provincial funding approval for its first student housing project, on the Lansdowne campus.
