Language school, English courses in Ennis, Ireland

Atlas Clare, formerly Clare Language Centre, is a family-run English language school in Ennis, the county town of Clare on the River Fergus in the west of Ireland. The school has announced a change of ownership together with the new name. Ennis lies on the Wild Atlantic Way, about half an hour from Limerick and 45 minutes from Galway, and Shannon Airport is 30 minutes away.

The school teaches English to adults, juniors and families, and its classes focus on spoken English through games and project-based learning. According to the school, all teachers are qualified native speakers. Its programmes include:

Courses are combined with extracurricular activities and excursions, including trips to the Cliffs of Moher. Students can stay with host families in Ennis or Kinvara, all vetted by the Irish police, and adults, groups and families can also stay at the Rowan Tree Holiday Hostel. Junior students can use a meeting service at Dublin Airport.

Housing

Host family accommodation is available in Ennis and Kinvara, only for students taking a course at the school; all families are vetted by the Irish police. Adult students live in Ennis town and choose between:

  • Half board, single room
  • Half board, single room with private bathroom
  • Self-catering single room

Junior students can stay in Ennis town or in the countryside, with breakfast, a packed lunch and dinner. Adults, groups and families can also stay at the Rowan Tree Holiday Hostel.
