Greenville Technical College (GTC) is a technical college in Greenville, South Carolina, that has served the Upstate region since 1962. Its main campus, the Barton Campus, is at 506 S. Pleasantburg Drive, and the college has 8 locations across Greenville County. GTC offers more than 100 certificate, diploma and degree programmes that prepare students for work in two years or less or for transfer to a four-year college, including a Bachelor in Applied Science in Advanced Manufacturing Technology.

Programmes are grouped into five schools:

  • Advanced Manufacturing and Transportation Technology
  • Arts and Sciences, including University Transfer and English as a Second Language
  • Business and Computer Technology
  • Engineering Technology and Professional Studies
  • Health Sciences

Courses are offered on campus, fully online and in blended (hybrid) formats. High school students can take college classes through Early College (dual enrolment), and non-credit continuing education courses are also available. Tuition is charged per credit hour under a linear model, with rates that depend on the school and on whether the student is classed as in-county, out-of-county or out-of-state; there is no application fee.

Programmes

GTC offers certificate, diploma and degree programmes in five schools, for example:

  • Advanced Manufacturing and Transportation Technology: Advanced Manufacturing Technology (Bachelor in Applied Science), aircraft maintenance, automotive technology, mechatronics, welding
  • Arts and Sciences: University Transfer, Visual Arts, English as a Second Language
  • Business and Computer Technology: accounting, computer technology, management, marketing, supply chain management
  • Engineering Technology and Professional Studies: architectural and construction engineering technology, Culinary Institute of the Carolinas, criminal justice
  • Health Sciences: nursing, dental, diagnostic medical sonography, radiologic technology, physical therapist assistant

Fees

Tuition and fees for the 2026-27 academic year are charged per credit hour (linear model) and vary by school and residence. Per-credit-hour rates range from US$200 (Arts and Sciences) to US$247 (Health Sciences) for in-county students, and from US$450 to US$497 for out-of-state students. Each semester also includes a US$105 enrolment fee, and some programmes add programme fees of up to US$50 per credit hour. There is no application fee.
