International Undergraduate Study Program (IUSP)

The International Undergraduate Study Program (IUSP) is a semester programme for international undergraduate students at Philipps-Universität Marburg, a university in Marburg, Germany. It is run as one of the university's exchange programmes and combines subject courses with intensive German classes. No previous knowledge of German is required.

The programme runs twice a year, from February to June and from August to December. Upcoming terms:

  • Fall Term 2026: 18 August to 11 December 2026
  • Spring Term 2027: 16 February to 11 June 2027
  • IUSP+Winter: six extra weeks before the spring term, with one additional intensive German class (2 January to 11 June 2027)
  • IUSP+Summer: four extra weeks at the Hessen International Summer University (ISU) Marburg before the fall term, with one additional German class and two academic seminars (18 July to 11 December 2026)

A cultural programme with weekend excursions is part of the IUSP.

Duration

One semester: February to June (Spring Term 2027: 16 February to 11 June 2027) or August to December (Fall Term 2026: 18 August to 11 December 2026). IUSP+Winter adds six weeks before the spring term and IUSP+Summer adds four weeks before the fall term.
