Norwegian International School (NIS) is a Christian international school in Tai Po, Hong Kong, for children aged from 2 years 8 months (K1) to 11 years (Year 6). It was founded by the Norwegian Lutheran Mission and the Norwegian Mission Society as a non-profit school for the children of Norwegian missionaries, later began to admit students from international backgrounds and switched to English as its language of instruction. Since 2010 the school has been sponsored and run by Generations Christian Education, a not-for-profit organisation.
NIS has two campuses: the kindergarten at 175 Kwong Fuk Road, in the Tai Po Bungalow, a listed heritage building, and the primary school at 170 Kam Shan Road. It is an International Primary Curriculum accredited school, uses the IEYC curriculum in the early years and has small classes, with a focus on whole-child education based on Christian values.
Admission is rolling, and children are accepted throughout the year as places become available. Kindergarten applicants attend a play interview and primary applicants a student interview. The school offers regular campus tours for prospective families.

Admission
NIS has rolling admissions: applications are made online (application fee HKD900) and children are accepted year-round as places become available. Applicants must be the right age for the year group; the cut-off date is 31 December, and children usually start Year 1 in the year they turn five.
- Kindergarten: play-session interview
- Primary: student interview, possibly a second interview or a trial day at the school
- Decision normally within two weeks of the final interview or trial day; otherwise placement in a waiting pool
- Place secured with the signed acceptance letter and a deposit within one week
Priority categories include siblings of current students, children from other Generations Christian Education schools and families from overseas seeking an international education.
Fees
Tuition fees for the 2026-27 school year:
- Kindergarten: HK$84,900 a year, payable over ten months at HK$8,490 per month, plus an annual capital levy of HK$7,310
- Primary (Year 1 to Year 6): HK$139,900 a year, payable over ten months at HK$13,990 per month, plus an annual capital levy of HK$14,620
The application fee is HKD900.
