The Université de Fianarantsoa is a higher education institution in Fianarantsoa, Madagascar. It was founded in 1977 and is preparing to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2027, with a stated mission of training, research and national development. Its units include a doctoral school (École Doctorale) and the École Supérieure des Sciences Géomatiques, a school of geomatics.
The university works with partners on applied research. Together with UNDP Madagascar and the Ilafitany laboratory, it held a workshop in October 2026 on the digital transformation of public services, as part of a collaboration to promote academic research. In September 2026 its doctoral school organised a national academic conference on the social sciences. The university also runs its own radio station, Radio ROFIA (91.4 MHz), and a periodic current-affairs programme, ROFIA Magazine.
