The University of Limerick (UL) is a university in Limerick, on the west coast of Ireland. It has more than 19,000 students, including over 3,300 international students each year, and a 130-hectare campus along the River Shannon, a few minutes from the city centre.
UL offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in four main areas:
- Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
- Business (Kemmy Business School)
- Education and Health Sciences
- Science and Engineering
It also runs professional studies and flexible online programmes designed with industry. According to the university, more than 2,000 students take paid or semi-paid work placements each year, and UL runs what it describes as Ireland's largest Erasmus+ programme. International applicants are handled by the International Student Admissions office ([email protected]). The campus has extensive sports facilities, including an Olympic-size swimming pool.
Students can live on campus: some residences are reserved for postgraduate students, and each term rooms are set aside for a limited number of study abroad, Erasmus and exchange students.

Housing
UL has on-campus student residences. First-year undergraduates applying through the Irish CAO system get rooms through an accommodation lottery. A number of residences are reserved for postgraduate students only, and each term rooms are reserved for a limited number of study abroad, Erasmus and exchange students. Summer accommodation on campus is also available.
