VIA University College
Vocational school in Horsens, Denmark
VIA University College is a Danish university college with eight campuses across the Central Denmark region, in Aarhus, Horsens, Herning, Viborg, Holstebro, Randers and Silkeborg. It has about 18,000 Danish and international students and official status as a research institution, with a focus on applied research.
VIA offers English-taught bachelor's and AP (Academy Profession) degree programmes in animation, construction, design, engineering and business. Bachelor's degrees at Danish university colleges are professional bachelor's degrees with a strong emphasis on practice, and every programme includes an internship of between 9 and 20 weeks. Exchange programmes and a summer school are also available. Applications go through optagelse.dk, the common Danish portal, and VIA accepts IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge English results as proof of English. Students from the EU and EEA pay no tuition fees; other students pay fees that vary by programme. Students must find their own accommodation.
