Wade Hampton High School is a high school for grades 9 to 12 on Pine Knoll Drive, just off Wade Hampton Boulevard, in Greenville, South Carolina. The school states that its tradition in athletics, academics and the arts goes back more than 50 years. Its motto is Cum Audacia ("with audacity") and its students are known as "The Generals". New ninth-graders start in a Freshman Academy.
Advanced Placement (AP) exams are offered in subjects including:
- Calculus AB and BC, and Statistics
- English Language and English Literature
- US History, Modern World History and Macroeconomics
- Physics 1, Physics C and Environmental Science
- Computer Science A and Computer Science Principles
- Art History and Psychology
Students also take South Carolina End-of-Course tests in subjects such as Biology, Algebra 1 and US History, and all third-year students take the WIN career readiness test. PSAT/NMSQT, ACT and SAT testing takes place at the school; the school reports an average SAT score of 1,079, against a South Carolina average of 1,009. Clubs, student government, athletics and fine arts are a central part of school life, and the counselling department sends a monthly newsletter to students and families.
