No, Honorlock cannot directly detect a phone without a camera because it doesn't monitor secondary devices like phones; however, it uses voice detection, network monitoring (IP/MAC), and AI to spot reflections/light to catch phone use, even on devices with cameras, by detecting keywords like "Hey Siri," IP changes, or visible phone light/reflections during the proctored session.

Can Honorlock detect phone use?

During the exam, Honorlock can detect secondary devices, such as phones. Because the browser extension does not get installed onto secondary devices, Honorlock cannot procure data from those devices, nor can it capture web traffic from other devices on the student's network at the time of the exam.

Try a different USB port and scan for hardware changes:

Select Start , type device manager, then select it from the search results. Find your camera under Cameras, Imaging devices, or Sound, video and game controllers. If you can't find your camera, select the Action menu, then select Scan for hardware changes.

Is scratch paper allowed in Honorlock?
