How long does the course take to complete? Students can work at their own pace but will need to be in the course at least 14 days from their first assignment. Typical students complete the course in 6-8 weeks working approximately 2-3 hours per week.

Can you quit FLVS?

If a classroom has not been assigned yet, the course can be dropped from your child's dashboard. Once a classroom is assigned, you will need to call or email the assigned teacher to request withdrawal.

What happens if you fail a FLVS class?

A student who does not complete and pass every discussion-based assessment in the course is ineligible for course credit.

Is FLVS considered homeschool?

Students enrolling into the local public school or transitioning into Florida Virtual School Full Time will be held accountable for all district graduation requirements and will no longer be considered a homeschool student.

All FLVS Flex courses are offered FREE to Florida students and taught by dedicated, certified teachers. With year-round, 24/7 access, these mastery-based courses allow students to learn on their own schedule and at a flexible pace.

Can you finish FLVS early?

Can FLVS detect cheating?

FLVS instructors utilize technologies to check for authenticity. Copying, knowingly allowing others to copy from you, and/or misusing the internet content could result in removal from your course. Academic integrity is the cornerstone of learning at FLVS.

What grade do you need to pass FLVS?

Students must earn a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale for all cohort years and pass statewide, standardized assessments unless a waiver of assessment results is granted by the IEP team for students with disabilities.

How many classes do you have to take in FLVS?

Students are required to complete 6 courses during the semester of graduation. This is an accreditation requirement. Students who need less than 6 credits to meet graduation requirements are not eligible for a diploma through Florida Virtual School.

How fast can you finish hope on FLVS?

HOPE is a two-segment course and, per NCAA regulations, you must spend at least 21 days in each segment. That means the soonest you can finish the entire HOPE course is 42 days from your start date. You'll read more about this "21-day-per-segment seat time requirement" in the course, so don't panic.

Do you get a diploma with FLVS?

FLVS Full Time offers diplomas for students who graduate from our full-time public school. Find more information about this option here. FLVS Flex does not currently grant a diploma. Instead, credits are transferred back to the student's local school to count towards their graduation requirement.
