Acadia University is a liberal arts university in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, about an hour's drive from Halifax and its international airport. Founded in 1838, it has 3,574 students from nearly every Canadian province and nearly 60 countries, on a 250-acre campus. The average class has 28 students and the student-to-professor ratio is 15:1.
Acadia teaches through four faculties: Arts, Professional Studies, Pure and Applied Sciences, and Theology. The university lists more than 200 degree options, 22 of them with a co-op (work placement) option. Graduate studies, the Acadia Divinity College and the School of Education complete the offer, and Open Acadia runs online courses, including non-credit pre-university courses in chemistry and mathematics.
Most first-year students (90%) live in residence, and all international students are guaranteed a place in on-campus residence for the whole of their studies. The university awards $8 million in scholarships and financial aid each year. Applications for entry in autumn 2027 are open.

Deadlines
For entry in autumn 2027 (applications now open):
- Nursing: applications close in February 2027
- Scholarships: deadline in March 2027 to apply for additional scholarships and to be considered for entrance scholarships
Housing
All international students are guaranteed a place in on-campus residence for the whole of their studies, and 90% of first-year students live in residence; every residence is a five-minute walk from classes. International students starting in Fall 2026 receive a residence discount of CAD 2,000 a year for up to four years, valid only for a residence room. Most students living off campus stay within one kilometre of the university.
