Adrian College is a liberal arts college in the United Methodist tradition in Adrian, Michigan, a few minutes from Ann Arbor, Detroit and Toledo (Ohio). It was chartered on 28 March 1859 and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The college has about 1,800 students and a faculty-to-student ratio of 1:15. According to the college, U.S. News & World Report ranked it No. 1 Most Innovative Regional University in the Midwest.

Adrian offers undergraduate majors, minors, certificates and pre-professional programmes, as well as graduate studies. Areas include:

  • Business, accounting and economics
  • Computer science, cybersecurity and applied AI and data science
  • Natural sciences, mathematics and exercise science
  • Criminal justice, communication, English and journalism
  • Art, design and performing arts, including commercial music
  • Teacher education
  • Graduate programmes such as the Master of Science in Accountancy, Master of Arts in Criminal Justice and a professional master's in athletic training

International students apply online with rolling admission for the spring and fall semesters; applicants whose native language is not English need TOEFL or IELTS scores. Admitted students receive an I-20 for the F-1 visa process, and the college's international student pages cover SEVIS, full-time enrolment and employment rules. Students can live in on-campus residence halls.

Admission Requirements

International applicants follow these steps:

  • Apply through the online application (rolling admission for the spring and fall semesters)
  • Send official, signed and sealed high school and/or university transcripts; documents not in English must be evaluated and translated (e.g. by WES)
  • Submit TOEFL or IELTS scores if English is not the native language
  • Complete the CSS Profile (school code 1001)
  • After receiving the financial aid package, pay the enrollment deposit
  • Provide proof of funding, such as parent income and savings statements or a sponsor letter
  • After receiving the I-20, pay the SEVIS fee and attend a visa interview (not needed for Canadian or Mexican students)
