Artxandape Ikastola is a Catholic school of the diocesan community of Bizkaia, in the Uribarri district of Bilbao, close to the City Hall. It began in 1967 with three preschool classrooms in a local parish and today teaches children from 2 to 16 years old in three stages:

• Infant Education (2 to 6 years)
• Primary Education (6 to 12 years)
• Compulsory Secondary Education, ESO (12 to 16 years)

The school follows the Basque Model D: all subjects except Spanish Language are taught in Basque. English starts at age 2 with the Jolly Phonics method, is used for content teaching (CLIL) in Primary and is supported by native conversation assistants in ESO. French is offered as an elective from age 12, and a Dual Baccalaureate programme is available from the second year of ESO. A team of 48 teachers works across the three stages. Lessons include chess, 3D printing, robotics and Arduino programming, and from the sixth year of Primary each pupil works with a Chromebook.

ESO students can join international exchanges with Brittany, the United Kingdom and the USA. Meals are cooked on site, and a school bus service runs on routes within Bilbao. The school holds Q Silver (2007) and ISO 9001:2015 quality certifications.
