British Royal School is a private British school in the A Coruña area, with premises at Rúa de Laxe 122 in Rutis and at Avenida Nueva York 61 in Curulledo. It teaches the British curriculum with qualified native English-speaking teachers, and pupils also take subjects from the Spanish curriculum so that they can obtain both British and Spanish qualifications. The school states that it is the first school in the province of A Coruña to belong to NABSS (National Association of British Schools in Spain) and that it has passed the annual inspections of the department for British schools overseas. It is run by a company from A Coruña that also operates the 19 "Os Pequerrechos" nursery schools.
The school covers the Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception), Primary (Key Stages 1 and 2) and Secondary from Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9). Classes are small, with two teachers per group, and school lunch is compulsory. School bus and breakfast club services are available.
Admissions are open all year. Most pupils start in September, but new families also join at the start or middle of a term. Families can visit the school, and children are invited to a trial day in a class of their age.
