Butler University is a private institution of higher education, situated in Indianapolis, Indiana. The school was established in 1855 and is named after the founder Ovid Butler. It delivers 60 degree programs. These include 55 undergraduate, one first professional and 17 master's degrees. The school receives about 4,400 students yearly and is organized into six colleges: business, communication, education, liberal arts and sciences, pharmacy and health sciences, and fine arts. Moreover, Butler has ranked 2nd in the U.S. News & World Report'sAmerica's Best Colleges 2010 for Top Midwestern Master's Universities. The university puts great emphasis on practicality of knowledge and offers individual attention to its students with its small class size and no teaching assistants.
