The Centre Universitaire d'Études Françaises (CUEF) is the French as a foreign language centre of the Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA). It is based in the Stendhal building on the university campus (Domaine universitaire) in Saint-Martin-d'Hères and can be reached by tram lines B and C. The CUEF holds the Qualité FLE label with three stars in all assessed areas: courses and teaching, teachers, welcome and support, premises and equipment, and management.

  • Semester university French programme (DUEF), with the first semester of 2026-27 running from 4 September to 11 December 2026

  • Training courses for French teachers

Enrolment at the CUEF includes free access to an online platform for practising French pronunciation. The centre organises cultural activities throughout the year, and international students arriving at UGA can join the university's Buddy scheme, which pairs them with local students.
