Churchill House School of English Language
Language school, English courses in Ramsgate, The United Kingdom
Churchill House School of English Language is an independent English language school in Ramsgate, on the Kent coast in England, established in 1971. It is accredited by the British Council and is a member of English UK. Its courses are aimed mainly at young learners, and its main school is on Spencer Square in Ramsgate.
The school runs two kinds of programme:
- Group MiniStay courses for groups of adults or juniors, all year round at the Ramsgate school and built to each group's needs
- Summer courses for young learners at its summer centres, including Aldenham near London, Duke of York, St Edmunds in Canterbury and a homestay programme in Ramsgate
Summer lessons concentrate on speaking and listening. At the Ramsgate homestay centre (ages 12-17), students have 15 hours of English a week with qualified teachers, classes of up to 15 (average 13), a placement test before arrival and a certificate of completion. Each week includes a half-day and a full-day excursion. Depending on the centre, students live on site or with a host family. Prices for group courses are quoted on request.
