College of Lake County (CLC) is a college based in Grayslake, Illinois, with two further campuses, Lakeshore and Southlake, and an Advanced Technology Center in Gurnee for manufacturing programmes. It offers liberal arts and career-focused associate degrees, 115 short-term certificates and other training. Students can start at CLC and then transfer, or prepare for a new career in two years or less. The college reports a student-to-faculty ratio of 16:1.
Programmes are grouped into nine areas of study, among them Arts, Digital Media and Communications; Business, Hospitality, and Information Technology; Science and Math; Manufacturing, Engineering and Advanced Technologies; and Wellness and Health Sciences. Both credit and noncredit classes are available, and community programmes let people complete their high school education, learn English or take a class for interest. CLC also runs a student-managed restaurant, the Prairie Restaurant at Brae Loch.
Applying is free through an online admission form. College and Career Navigators help future students with the admission process, choosing a programme and enrolling in first-semester classes, and the college has information pages for international students. Costs can be covered through financial aid and scholarships.
