Its teaching combines the liberal arts and professional studies and is rooted in the Christian humanism of St. Francis de Sales. The university is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), and individual programmes hold further accreditations.
Programmes are taught on campus, online, in hybrid low-residency format or blended, across several colleges and schools, including the Waterbury Reilly School of Business, the School of Nursing, the College of Healthcare Professions and the School of Performing Arts. The offer includes:
- Bachelor's degrees in fields such as business, sciences, nursing, education, humanities and the performing arts
- Accelerated bachelor's programmes for adult learners
- More than 15 online and on-campus graduate programmes, including an MBA
- Doctorates in medical science, nursing practice and physical therapy
Students can spend a semester abroad through the university's exchange agreements, or take part in a summer programme in Segovia, Spain. Most undergraduates live in residence halls on campus, where first-year students must live unless they commute from home, and graduate housing is available at University Heights.
