The University of Scranton is a private, co-education Jesuit university, founded in 1888 as a college. It gained status of a university in 1938, and currently operates in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The institution has made available 61 bachelor’s degree programs, 43 minors, 23 master’s degree programs, and a doctor of physical therapy program; these are organized into four colleges and schools - The College of Arts and Sciences, The Kania School of Management, The Panuska College of Professional Studies, and The College of Graduate and Continuing Education. The university stresses on its technology-rich campus and sense of community that it provides to students. Scranton is constantly growing, with a new science center being its latest development, while for nine consecutive years, it has been recognized as one of The Princeton Review's "373 Best Colleges."
