Free Bird Institute is an English language school in Fiji, a country where English is an official language. It has operated since 2004; the school states that it opened Fiji's first English language school and that more than 36,000 students have studied with it since then. Its campuses are former school buildings repurposed for language teaching, staffed by experienced local teachers. Free Bird is listed on the South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPX).
English courses are booked by the week, with lower weekly rates for stays of more than 12 weeks and of 24 weeks or more. The school also runs a High School Study Abroad Program of one to three semesters (four months to one year), which includes homestay and two meals a day.
Students can live with a local host family, which provides accommodation and meals as well as daily opportunities to speak English and experience Fijian life, or in a school dormitory, in a single or shared room.
