The Escuela Oficial de Idiomas Prado de Alarcos is an official language school in Ciudad Real, located on Paseo de la Universidad. It teaches German, Spanish for foreigners (español para extranjeros), French, English and Italian, following the curriculum common to all official language schools in Spain, with levels defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
In Spanish as a foreign language, the school offers Nivel Básico (two courses leading to the A2 certificate), Intermedio B1 and B2, and Avanzado C1 and C2, each level leading to an official certificate. Classroom courses require regular attendance and have 120 hours per course. Besides these courses, the school offers official exams for free candidates (oficial libre), specific courses and the That's English programme, and it takes part in Erasmus+.
Applications are made online only, through the EducamosCLM Secretaría Virtual. For 2026-27, the ordinary application period ran from 17 to 30 April 2026, with an extraordinary period from 1 to 14 September 2026. Applicants must be 16 by 31 December of the year they start (14 for a language other than their first foreign language at secondary school).
