Escuela Oficial de Idiomas "San Roque-Marián Díaz"

The Escuela Oficial de Idiomas San Roque-Marián Díaz is the official language school of San Roque, in the Campo de Gibraltar area of the province of Cádiz. It is on the second floor of the Edificio Diego Salinas, next to the town hall, and buses from Algeciras and La Línea stop nearby. The school opened in December 1988, and Spanish for foreigners has been taught there since its first year, alongside English and French. In December 2019 it received the Erasmus+ quality award, according to the school.

Today the school has departments of English, German, French, Spanish and Italian; Spanish is taught by its Spanish for Foreigners department (Departamento de Español para Extranjeros). Classroom students have 4.5 hours of class a week on two days, Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. Morning groups are offered only in English and Spanish, and afternoon groups in all languages. External candidates (modalidad libre) can sit the certificate exams in every language at the certificate levels: Basic A2, Intermediate B1, Intermediate B2 and Advanced C1.

Pre-registration (preinscripción) for new students runs from 1 to 20 May each year, with a copy of an identity document or passport. The minimum age is 16 by 31 December of the year of enrolment.
