The French University in Armenia (UFAR) is a university in Yerevan, located at 10 David Anhaght Street. The university states that it has more than 2,500 students and over 3,600 graduates, and it celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2025.

Bachelor's (Licence) programmes are offered in law, management, finance, marketing, and informatics and applied mathematics, over four years of study. French is part of the training: according to the university, more than 90% of the students admitted in 2025 did not know French, and they are expected to reach level B2 after four years. Master's programmes lead to two diplomas, are taught in the evening by French and Armenian lecturers and include the possibility of an internship abroad:

  • Artificial intelligence systems

Bachelor's applicants register online and sit entrance exams that depend on the faculty; certificates such as DELF B1, IELTS, TOEFL or Goethe-Zertifikat B1 exempt them from the foreign-language exam. Master's applications are sent by email. The university runs academic scholarships for high-achieving students and a social aid scheme, and announces Erasmus+ mobility grant calls.

Applicants to the marketing and finance master's without a background in the field can take preparatory courses.

Admission

Bachelor's applicants complete an online application with a scanned secondary-school certificate (or a school statement for students in 12th grade), a scanned passport or ID card, a 3x4 photo and the receipt for the application fee. Entrance exams depend on the faculty:

  • Law: social science and Armenian
  • Marketing, management and finance: mathematics and a foreign language (French, English or German) or Armenian
  • Informatics and applied mathematics: advanced mathematics and a foreign language

Holders of certificates such as DELF B1, IELTS, TOEFL or Goethe-Zertifikat B1 are exempt from the foreign-language exam. Master's admission conditions differ for UFAR graduates and external applicants; applications are sent by email to [email protected].

Fees

Annual tuition fees for the 2026-27 academic year, in Armenian dram (AMD):

  • Bachelor's in law, management, finance and marketing: AMD 1,050,000 (1st year), 1,090,000 (2nd), 1,120,000 (3rd), 1,140,000 (4th)
  • Bachelor's in informatics and applied mathematics: AMD 1,120,000 (1st year), 1,150,000 (2nd), 1,200,000 (3rd), 1,250,000 (4th)
  • Master's in marketing and sales, finance and control, and law: AMD 1,100,000 (1st year), 1,200,000 (2nd)
  • Master's in artificial intelligence systems: AMD 1,250,000 per year

Bachelor's applicants pay an application fee of AMD 7,500.

Scholarships and financial aid

UFAR has a system of academic scholarships for its best-performing students and a social aid scheme based on social criteria; a social aid call for 2026-27 has been announced. The university also runs calls for Erasmus+ mobility grants.
