The Russian-Armenian University (RAU) is an interstate higher education institution in Yerevan, Armenia, located on Hovsep Emin Street. It is organised in eight institutes and, according to its website, has 6,039 students. Programmes are taught in a Russian sector and an Armenian sector.

RAU offers bachelor's and specialist degrees, master's programmes and doctoral studies. Its institutes cover:

  • International relations and political sciences
  • Philology and intercultural communication
  • Mathematics, physics and high technologies
  • Biomedicine and pharmacy
  • Media, advertising and film
  • Law
  • Economics and business
  • Oriental studies

Within the master's offer, Contemporary Diplomacy and International Affairs is taught in English. The university also runs a business school with MBA programmes, Russian language courses, a Confucius Classroom and a Centre for Chinese Language and Culture, and its own school (Usmunk). Admission to bachelor's programmes is competitive, with state-funded and fee-paying places and entrance examinations held by RAU; for 2026 entry, applications opened on 11 May 2026 and entrance exams for state-funded places took place from 13 to 25 July 2026. An international office is also part of the university.

Bachelor's programmes (Russian sector, full-time) include:

  • Applied mathematics and computer science; electronics and nanoelectronics
  • Economics, management and tourism
  • Law
  • International relations, political science and psychology
  • Linguistics, philology, journalism and advertising/PR
  • Oriental and African studies

Specialist degrees: pharmacy, bioengineering and bioinformatics, medical biochemistry, and film and television directing.

Graduate programmes

Master's programmes are offered in the Russian and Armenian sectors. Examples:

  • Machine learning and data science; artificial intelligence and robotics
  • International economics; project management
  • Corporate law; international public and European law
  • International relations and diplomacy
  • Contemporary Diplomacy and International Affairs (taught in English)
  • Interpreting and translation; teaching Russian as a foreign language
  • Digital health (Armenian sector)

The business school also runs MBA programmes.
