Gettysburg College is a liberal arts college in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, founded in 1832. Its campus lies steps from where Abraham Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address, about 1.5 hours from Baltimore and Washington, D.C., and 2.5 hours from Philadelphia. The college has about 2,200 students, a 10:1 student-faculty ratio and an average class size of 18.
Students choose from more than 80 majors, minors and programmes across the humanities, sciences, social sciences and arts, including business, economics, computer science, health sciences, international and global studies, and music at the Sunderman Conservatory of Music. There is also a dual-degree engineering programme, and all students can do research with faculty mentors. According to the college, the Institute of International Education ranks it second in the US for study abroad programmes.
Gettysburg welcomes international applicants, who apply through the Common Application and have a dedicated admissions contact ([email protected]). The college aims to meet the demonstrated financial need of all admitted international students, although aid is competitive and funds are limited.
