I.E.F.C. Institut d' Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya

The Institut d'Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya (IEFC) is a photography institution in Barcelona whose stated purpose is to promote the study, research and dissemination of photography. It combines a school of photography with documentation and research work, a historical photographic archive, a library and cultural activities. The IEFC states that it has more than 50 years of experience training visual creators. It is located in the Recinte de l'Escola Industrial (C/ Comte d'Urgell, 187) and announces a new headquarters from the 2027-28 academic year.

The Professional Programme covers analogue photography and darkroom techniques, digital post-production and AI applied to photography, video, and studio lighting for architecture, fashion and advertising. Classes run Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 14:00 in small groups. Students receive an Adobe Creative Cloud licence, can borrow cameras, lighting and video equipment, and use the studios and labs outside class hours. The school runs a job board and internship agreements with more than 70 offers a year, has mobility agreements including one with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hannover, and offers scholarships for the Professional Programme. Applicants must be 18 or older.
