Indiana University Bloomington (IU Bloomington) is the flagship campus of Indiana University, in Bloomington, Indiana (United States). It is a Research 1 (R1) university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, with more than 47,000 students from all 50 US states and over 140 countries.
IU Bloomington lists more than 930 academic programmes, including over 200 undergraduate majors, accelerated bachelor's-plus-master's paths and graduate degrees, and teaches more than 80 languages. Its schools include the Kelley School of Business, the Paul O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design and the Jacobs School of Music. Students can choose from more than 380 overseas study programmes.
International first-year students apply through the Apply IU Application or the Common Application. English proficiency can be shown with a test score or by completing Level 7 of the campus Intensive English Program (IEP). The Office of International Services supports international students, and several scholarships are reserved for them. Housing includes 19 residence centres, apartment-style options and themed living-learning communities, plus housing guidance designed for international students.

Undergraduate admission (results from the last two years): TOEFL iBT 79, IELTS 6.5, Duolingo 115, Cambridge English 176, PTE 53, MET 53, SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 560 or ACT English 21. Citizens of, or students with three years of secondary school in, an English-speaking country, and students who complete Level 7 of the IU Intensive English Program, also qualify.
Before starting classes, a higher level (e.g. TOEFL iBT 100 or IELTS 7.5) exempts students from English support courses; otherwise placement uses test sub-scores. Graduate departments may require the TOEFL.
International students are eligible for merit-based academic awards and country-specific scholarships for incoming freshmen, including:

On-campus housing includes 19 residence centres, apartment-style options and themed living-learning communities, with more than 20 dining locations. There is also graduate student housing (including family-friendly units), sorority and fraternity houses, off-campus rentals, and housing guidance for international students on US leases, deposits and utilities.
