Higher education centre, Graduate school in Puch bei Salzburg, Austria

Fachhochschule Salzburg (FH Salzburg, Salzburg University of Applied Sciences) is a university of applied sciences in the Salzburg region of Austria, with campuses at Urstein and Kuchl. It offers bachelor's and master's programmes in six departments: Information Technologies and Digitalisation; Business and Tourism; Design and Green Engineering; Creative Technologies; Applied Social Sciences; and Health Sciences.

Bachelor's programmes last six semesters (three years) and range from business administration, tourism, IT and multimedia to wood technology, green building, social work and health professions such as physiotherapy. Some programmes can be studied part-time alongside work, and some are taught in English. In 2026 the university welcomed 101 international students from 30 countries.

Exchange and Erasmus+ students are nominated by their home university and then apply online; they need very good English or German. Applicants for full degree programmes contact the relevant department directly. Student residences with bathroom and kitchen are available on both campuses, and most incoming students live on Campus Urstein. The next Open House for prospective students is on 13 March 2027.

Housing

Students can live on or off campus. Both campuses (Urstein and Kuchl) have student residences, all with bathroom and kitchen; most incoming students choose Campus Urstein because it is closest to the university. Off campus, students can apply for places in student residences in the city of Salzburg, such as Europa Kolleg, Franz-von-Sales Kolleg or Internationales Kolleg in the south of the city. The university lists student housing organisations and rental platforms but is not affiliated with them, and it warns students about rental scams.
