INSA Lyon (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon) is an engineering school on the LyonTech-La Doua campus in Villeurbanne, next to Lyon, with a second campus in Oyonnax. International mobility is mandatory for all its students; 26% of students are international, from 100 nationalities, and the school has 200 partner institutions, 36 double-degree agreements and offices in Brazil, China and Mexico.

Its programmes include:

  • Engineering degrees, including work-study (apprenticeship) routes
  • Bachelor's programmes, among them an International Bachelor in Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace Engineering taught entirely in English
  • Master's degrees and specialised master's (mastère spécialisé)
  • Doctoral studies
  • Continuing education

Engineering departments cover biotechnology and bioinformatics, civil engineering and urban planning, electrical engineering, energy and environmental engineering, industrial engineering, computer science, materials science, mechanical engineering and telecommunications. There are four international sections (ASINSA, AMERINSA, EURINSA, GLOBALINSA) and some courses are taught in English. Exchange students can come for one semester or a full year under Erasmus, bilateral or other agreements, apply for on-campus housing, and join summer or winter French schools.
