Knox College is a private liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois (United States), founded in 1837. It has a student-faculty ratio of 11:1 and follows a 3-3 calendar: three terms a year, with three classes per term.
Knox offers more than 60 courses of study, including 42 majors, 57 minors and pre-professional and cooperative programmes, in fields such as biology, computer science, data science, economics, business and management, psychology, creative writing, art and music. There are more than 100 study abroad programmes, Knox tuition can be applied to study abroad, and the US$2,000 Power of Experience Grant helps pay for internships, international study or research.
More than 27% of students come from outside the United States, from 56 countries. International applicants apply through the Common Application, the Coalition Application or the Knox College Application, with no application fee. Knox does not offer English as a Second Language (ESL) courses, so applicants must show sufficient English proficiency. Merit scholarships for international students commonly range up to half of the comprehensive fee. Students first live in residence halls; juniors and seniors may move to campus apartments, townhouses or theme houses.

Knox offers bachelor's degrees (B.A. and B.S.) with 42 majors and 57 minors, plus cooperative, pre-professional and early admission programmes. Fields include:

- Art, art history and music
Students can study for a term, a semester or a full year at partner institutions abroad.
Applicants who need a visa to study in the U.S. apply as international students, online through the Common Application, the Coalition Application or the Knox College Application. There is no application fee, and ACT or SAT scores are optional. Required documents:
- Official secondary school transcript (self-reported transcripts are not accepted)
- Teacher evaluation from an academic subject
- Proof of English proficiency
- Knox Affidavit of Support (forms for winter 2027 and fall 2027 entry) and a bank statement from each sponsor
- GCE, IGCSE or other national exam results, if taken
An interview with an admission counselor is strongly recommended.
Knox does not offer ESL courses and requires proof of English proficiency. Accepted tests and minimum scores (valid for two years):
- IELTS: 6.5
- TOEFL iBT: 80, or 4.5 for tests taken after January 2026
- Duolingo English Test: 115
Exemptions include two consecutive years of full-time study in the U.S. or another country where English is the only official language, AP English Language 4, IB English Language and Literature 5, or A/AS Level English grade C.
Knox offers merit scholarships for international students, commonly up to half of the comprehensive fee; all applicants are considered automatically. Special talent scholarships in creative writing, dance, music, theatre and visual arts can be added to the academic award. The US$2,000 Power of Experience Grant helps with internships, international study, service, creative work or research. Knox advises families to expect the comprehensive fee to rise by 3 to 5 percent a year.
Students first live in residence halls, most of them arranged in suites of single and double bedrooms around a shared living space. Juniors and seniors may move to a campus apartment or townhouse, or to one of more than half a dozen theme houses that bring together students with shared interests.
