London Metropolitan University (London Met) is a university in London, United Kingdom, with three campuses in Holloway Road, Aldgate and Shoreditch, each within walking distance of a Tube station or bus stop. Its students come from more than 150 countries. The Guardian University Guide 2026 ranks it first in the UK for student value added, measuring the progress students make relative to their entry grades.
London Met offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in subject areas ranging from architecture, design, art and photography to business, finance, science, health, computing, and law and criminal justice. Study routes include:
- Bachelor's degrees, normally three years full time
- Degrees with a foundation year
- Top-up degrees (final year of a bachelor's)
- International pathway programmes at the on-campus International Study Centre
- Apprenticeships and short courses
- Postgraduate courses, PGCE teacher training and research degrees
All undergraduate courses include some form of work-related learning, such as a placement or client project. Courses start in January or September. The university has a dedicated application guide for students from outside the UK. It does not own or manage any halls of residence: its accommodation team gives advice on private student halls, flat shares, homestays and short stays, and from 2026-27 students can book housing through its partner platform Amber Student.

Duration
Bachelor's degrees normally take three years full time. Top-up degrees cover only the final year of an undergraduate degree, and degrees with a foundation year add a preparatory year.
Housing
London Met does not own or manage any halls of residence. Its accommodation team gives advice on finding and living in student housing in London, including:
- Privately owned student halls (applications go directly to the hall provider)
- Private rented flat shares, whole flats and houses
- Single-semester and short-stay options, including homestay, hotels and B&Bs
- Summer accommodation
From 2026-27 the university has partnered with Amber Student, a platform where students can research, select and book accommodation.
