City College at Montana State University Billings (City College at MSU Billings) is the two-year college of Montana State University Billings, in Billings, Montana. It goes back to 1969, when the Montana State Legislature created the Billings Vocational-Technical Education Center; in 1994 the center merged with Eastern Montana College to become the fifth college of MSU Billings. City College has its own campus at 3803 Central Avenue, separate from the university campus on University Drive.

The college provides university transfer education, career preparation, developmental education and workforce training, with small classes. Its programmes include:

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees
  • Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science (AS) degrees, including a self-designed AA/AS in General Studies
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN, RN)
  • Certificates of applied science
  • Contract training, continuing education and OSHA training

Graduates work, for example, as nurses, surgical technicians, paramedics, firefighters, automotive and diesel technicians and computer technicians or programmers. Students can continue to a bachelor's degree at the MSU Billings university campus or transfer to another four-year institution. Admission is test-optional, and international students on an F-1 visa apply through MSU Billings.

Admission

Applicants apply through MSU Billings and choose their applicant type (first-time freshman, transfer, international on an F-1 visa, dual enrollment for high school students in grades 9-12, returning or non-degree). Direct admission is open to high school seniors and first-time freshmen with a high school or homeschool diploma, GED or HiSET and a 2.0 GPA. ACT or SAT scores are not required; if submitted, they can replace a placement assessment in math and English. Official transcripts from all previous institutions and immunization records must be submitted before the start of the semester.
