Morgan State University is a public research university and historically Black university (HBCU) in a residential area of northeast Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 1867, it is classified as a high research (R2) institution by the Carnegie Classification and describes itself as the largest HBCU in Maryland. Its campus covers more than 185 acres and is designated in its entirety as a National Treasure by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Morgan has graduated more than 55,000 students.
The university offers more than 150 academic programmes, from bachelor's degrees to doctorates, through schools and colleges including:

Students come from six continents. International applicants submit an online application with evaluated academic records, proof of English proficiency and financial information, and most need an F-1 student visa. Morgan also has a Study Abroad office and an Honors College. On-campus residence halls and apartments are available, although upper-class students mostly live off campus.

International applicants submit a complete application by the international deadlines; incomplete applications are not reviewed and I-20s are only issued after a complete application. Required:

An essay, a letter of recommendation and SAT/ACT scores are optional. Most documents can be uploaded in the online application. Students already in the US can transfer their SEVIS record to Morgan.
The Office of Residence Life & Housing offers residence halls and apartments on campus for new, transfer and returning students. Upper-class students mostly live off campus, as on-campus places for them are limited. Residents can use the Academic Enrichment Program's tutoring labs and living-learning communities.
