Net Languages creates and licenses online English and Spanish language courses for individual students, corporate clients, and government and educational institutions around the world. The company was set up at the beginning of 1998 by a team who had previously worked together at International House Barcelona, and its first courses were launched in May 1999. After a period in which the Spanish publisher Grupo Santillana held a majority shareholding, a management buyout in May 2003 made Net Languages an independent company again.
The English courses are designed for students of all ages and levels, and include more specialised options:
- General English
- Business English
- English for tourism
- IELTS exam preparation
The Spanish courses mirror the English ones in their design and quality. Individual learners can choose between courses for adults and for younger learners. Separate services are offered to companies and government institutions, and to educational organisations such as universities, K-12 centres, language schools and training organisations. According to the company, all courses come with pedagogical, administrative and technical support services.
