Nîmes Université (also called Unîmes) is a public university in Nîmes, in the Gard department of southern France. It has around 6,000 students and teaches on the Vauban, Carmes and Hoche sites in Nîmes and on a campus in Mende. Since 1 January 2025 it has had the status of an experimental public institution (Établissement Public Expérimental, EPE).
The university offers around fifty multidisciplinary programmes, from the licence (bachelor's degree, three years after the baccalauréat) to the doctorate, in initial training, continuing education or work-study, on site or by distance learning. For the 2026 intake it lists 17 master's-level and 15 professional licence programmes. Main areas:

Teaching is in French, and a B2 level certified by the TCF test is required for admission. The university holds the Erasmus+ Charter for 2021-2027 and welcomes exchange students from partner universities under Erasmus+ and bilateral agreements. It is a member of the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie and the Campus France network, and its International Relations Office runs a buddy programme for incoming students.

For the 2026 intake Nîmes Université offers 17 master's-level programmes in sciences, literature, languages and history, art and design, law, economics and management, psychology, sports science (STAPS), communication and tourism. Doctoral studies are also available.
- EU applicants: first year of the licence through Parcoursup; second or third year, professional licence and master's through eCandidat; first year of master's through MonMaster
- Non-EU applicants living in a country with a Campus France office: application through Campus France, which is required for the student visa; for the first year of the licence, a preliminary admission request (demande d'admission préalable)
- Exchange students (Erasmus+ or bilateral agreement): nomination by the home university, then an application with a cover letter in French, transcripts, a study programme approved by the home university and a French B2 certificate
Courses and exams are in French. Degree applicants need at least B2 in French, certified by the Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF), which must be included in every application; the university holds a TCF DAP session each year in mid-February. Exchange students also need a minimum B2 level in French.
Nîmes Université applies differentiated fees for students from outside the EU and EEA. In the 2026-27 academic year these are €2,902 a year for a licence (bachelor's) and €3,950 for a master's.
