Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is a private, not-for-profit research university in Florida, with its 314-acre main campus in Davie/Fort Lauderdale. It was founded in 1964 as Nova University of Advanced Technology and merged in 1994 with Southeastern University of Health Sciences. The Carnegie Foundation classifies it as an R1 research university with very high research activity, and according to the university it is the largest private, not-for-profit institution in the US that meets the criteria of a Hispanic-serving institution.
NSU offers more than 130 bachelor's, master's, specialist and doctoral programmes in colleges including:
- Halmos College of Arts and Sciences
- H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship
- College of Computing, AI, and Cybersecurity
- College of Psychology and Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing
- Colleges of Allopathic and Osteopathic Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy and Optometry
- Shepard Broad College of Law
Besides the main campus, NSU has regional campuses across Florida and in Puerto Rico, Colorado and Nevada, and many programmes are offered online. International students apply through undergraduate or graduate admissions, and the Office of International Students and Scholars provides immigration advice, orientation and support for F-1 and J-1 students.
