Paramus Catholic High School is a coeducational Catholic high school in Paramus, New Jersey, and part of the Archdiocese of Newark. The school is celebrating 60 years and welcomes girls and boys from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. It offers a college-preparatory curriculum with a focus on faith-based education.

The curriculum includes 141 courses, of which 33 are honors courses, plus 21 Advanced Placement (AP) courses; the Aquinas Scholars Program is aimed at high-achieving students. Facilities include a television studio, an assisted learning center and a music conservatory with an amphitheater. The 27-acre campus has a 1,500-seat football stadium, sports fields and a covered tennis court, and the school is affiliated with the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and competes in the Big North Conference. Mondays are kept free of tests and homework deadlines, except during exam week.

Students apply for entry into ninth grade. Applicants submit an online application, their middle school academic records and results of the High School Placement Test (HSPT), which is required for admission. Families may qualify for tuition assistance, discounts and external scholarships, and prospective students can spend a "Paladin for a Day" at the school.

Admission Requirements

Applicants for ninth grade are evaluated on their academic records and their High School Placement Test (HSPT) results. The steps are:

  • Parents or guardians create an account in the school's Blackbaud portal and complete the online application
  • HSPT results, required for all incoming ninth-grade applicants
  • Middle school academic records
  • Ninth Grade Applicant Form, forwarded to the student's current middle school

Applicants who missed earlier test dates can register for an additional HSPT session for Paramus Catholic applicants only.

Dates and Deadlines

Admission for the 2027-28 academic year: the last day to register for the High School Placement Test (HSPT) on 6 November 2026 is 23 October 2026.
