Trinity Christian School of Montville, Inc.
Primary and secondary school in Montville, The United States
Trinity Christian School of Montville (TCS) is a private, non-parochial classical Christian day school in Montville, New Jersey, for students from kindergarten to grade 12. Founded in 1986, it is a nonprofit, board-governed school that uses the facilities of Trinity Baptist Church of Montville while remaining a separate entity. TCS is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS) and the Society for Classical Learning (SCL), among other associations.
Teaching follows the classical method in three stages:
- Grammar stage: foundational facts, rules and vocabulary, learned through chants, songs and immersive study
- Logic stage: reasoning and sound argumentation
- Rhetoric stage: clear and persuasive expression
The student-teacher ratio is 13:1, and classes are capped at 18 students per grade level. Admission starts with an inquiry and a private tour with an interview with the Head of School, followed by a written application, a grade-level assessment, a pastoral recommendation and, for some families, a home interview with two trustees. Tuition assistance based on financial need is assessed through FACTS.
