Plateros Spanish School is a Spanish language school in Guanajuato, Mexico. Classes start every Monday all year round, for all levels from beginner to superior. On the first day, a written test and an interview are used to place each student in a class at the right level, and classes are small.
The school offers group courses, combinations of group and private lessons, mini-group immersion programmes and one-to-one classes:
- Intensive Standard: 15, 20 or 25 group lessons (3 to 5 classes a day)
- Intensive PLUS: group lessons combined with private tuition
- Mini Group Immersion PLUS programmes with lunch
- Special programmes for travellers, seniors, children and teenagers
- Professional programmes: DELE exam preparation, Spanish for business, medical and legal Spanish, and a refresher course for Spanish teachers
- Volunteer and cultural exchange programmes
Students can stay with a host family close to the school, in a private or shared room with two or three meals a day; shared housing, apartments and hotels are also listed. A deposit reserves a place in a class, and the school then sends information on the homestay, airport transfer and schedule.

Students register with the online form and pay a deposit to reserve a place; the deposit is deducted from the tuition. Full payment is due two weeks before classes start, and extensions are paid on the Thursday before the next week. Payment is accepted in cash (dollars, euros or pesos), by bank transfer, credit card or PayPal. Students are asked to send a recent photograph before arrival so that staff can identify them at the airport.
The school arranges homestays with selected local families located very close to the school, in a single or shared room, with breakfast, half board or full board. Rooms are available from 12 noon on the Sunday before the course until 12 noon on the Saturday after it ends. Beds are made up with pillows, blankets and sheets; students bring their own towel. Shared housing, apartments and hotels are also listed on the school's accommodation page.
