Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS) is a hospitality management school in Switzerland with two campuses: a former palace in Caux, Montreux (Rue du Panorama 2, 1824 Montreux), and the ski resort of Leysin. It belongs to Swiss Education Group, a group of schools specialising in hospitality, business and culinary arts. SHMS states that it is ranked among the top four in the 2026 QS World University Rankings for hospitality. In 2021 the design courses of IHTTI were integrated into its degree programmes.

Teaching is practice-based: students run on-campus restaurants and spa facilities and organise events for real customers. Students and staff come from more than 60 nationalities. Applicants apply online with transcripts, proof of English (TOEFL, IELTS or equivalent), a CV and a motivation letter, and pay an application fee of CHF 150. Students from outside the EU need a Swiss student visa and should allow 8 to 12 weeks before the start date. A limited number of scholarships are available each year.

• Minimum age 17 years old
• Students must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for the full-time industry internship. Under-18 students will complete the second academic term at SHMS before commencing their first internship placement.

English level equivalent to a minimum TOEFL score of 500 points.

SHMS offers a limited number of scholarships each year, on a first-come, first-served basis, each with its own criteria:

• Scholarship for Swiss citizens or Swiss permit holders
• Partner scholarship
• Merit-based scholarship
• Payment plans and loans for EU citizens

Scholarships apply to tuition fees only and cannot be combined with other fee reductions.

Full board and accommodation are included in the fees.

SHMS' Leisure Managers organise a wide range of sports and leisure activities as well as excursions and professional visits.

Sports, social activities and excursions provide an important balance to academic study. Many of these events are fully or partly funded by SHMS. School sports teams are also organised each term. These recreational activities allow students not only to get to know Switzerland better but also to relax and enjoy their stay while they study hospitality management
